Ho Ho Ho

(Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas, 30 x 24)
NFS

Getting into the holiday spirit.
This jolly ol' Santa Claus just blew off my brush!
It is a large painting that I plan on putting above my fireplace for Christmas.

Here is a close up of his face.
I hope all your dreams come true this year.
Peace and goodwill to everyone,
Thank you for viewing my paintings.

Okay this little trick took toothpicks, but they are stacked!
Again, I worked on a canvas that was painted with patina copper.

Thank you for viewing my paintings.

Acrobatic Cuties

(oil on panel, 8 x 8)

Hup, hup, hup!  The cuties are stacked up; ready to cheer!
Ok, so I play with my food.

This was painted on a panel painted with that fabulous copper paint that you can oxidize & then seal.
It makes for an interesting background.
See some of my earlier paintings last January for more of this background style.

Thank you for viewing my paintings.

Cuties

(oil on convex canvas 8 x 10)

I love this time of year when Clementines come into the market.
These tart/sweet citrus fruits are so tasty.
I must say: they are also fun to paint.
This "convex canvas" needs no framing and is hung flat to the wall.

Thank you for viewing my paintings.
Happy cutie season!

Golden Buddha

(acrylic & oil on convexo canvas, 20 x 16)
SOLD

I've been working on some larger projects lately.
But, this Buddha was done very quickly on a black acrylic primed canvas.
I would say I was meditating...but don't we all do that when we paint?

Thank you for viewing my paintings.

Foiled Yet Again

(Oil on Canvas Board, 6x6)
I'm still working with this theme of foiled objects in a still life.
I find the foil to be so challenging & fun to paint.

Thank you for viewing my paintings.

Big Red

(oil on board, 6x6)

I really enjoy these quick small paintings.  I take more risks with them and

Indian Pear Cactus

(oil on 24 inch round canvas)

This is Indian Pear Cactus; a cousin to prickly pear cactus.
The fruit is typically eaten minus the thick outer skin; after chilling for a few hours.
They have a taste similar to jury; extra sweet watermelon.

This is a round canvas with the painting done to the edges.
It hangs flat on the wall and needs no framing.

Thank you for viewing my paintings.

Feeding Frenzy

(oil on 20 inch round canvas)

SOLD

This is the third koi painting in this series.
The smaller canvas brings the koi in closer to one another.
I like the way their bodies over lap one another.
If you've ever had the pleasure to feed koi; you've seen this behavior.

Thank you for viewing my paintings.

Dancing Koi

(oil on 24 inch round convex canvas)

(oil on 12 inch round convexo canvas)
(Comment to me to purchase): $115.

Continuing on a smaller scale with the round convex canvases.
Still aquatic in theme, but fantasy based from my imagination.
The fun of these round canvases is that you may turn them to suit your preference.

Koi

(oil on 24inch round canvas)

I've been experimenting with these round canvases.
Their shape inspires me towards aquatic themes.
These koi fish are from my imagination.
I like these canvases & plan to do more experimenting.
Stay Tuned!

Thank you for viewing my pantings.

Heinz

(oil on panel, 6x6)

It is always so interesting for me to post paintings.
This helps me to see my work in a more detached version.
So naturally, I see things that I may change in future paintings.
This is how the practice of "Daily Paintworks" helps me grow as an artist.

Thank you for viewing my paintings.

Pre-Lemonade

(oil on gessoed board, 10x12)

This is the second still life of fruit in that glass bowl.
I am beginning to get the hang of the shape of the bowl.
And, I love the smell of the lemons in my studio.
These are Meyer Lemons from my friend Dicksie.

Thank you for viewing my paintings.

Apple Quad

(oil on gessoed board, 10x12)

The glass bowl, not so much.

Reflected Fruit

(oil on gessoed board, 12x10)

I worked on this one for a couple of days.
The vase is one my husband gave me years ago with flowers.
I  bring it out every time I get a big bouquet.
I just love the lines of this vase.

Here they are the main course.

One & 2 Halves

(oil on canvas board, 6x6)

 I really like yellow onions.
Not just how they taste, but the colors in their paper skins.
And I love the surprising resurrection when you leave them too long and they begin to sprout.

Ur A Brick

(oil on canvas board, 10x10)

He looks like he's been in a few fights but is standing tall.

Spring Fever

(oil on canvas gallery wrap, 14x18)
SOLD

I must admit to Spring Fever.  While the N.E. is still under "tons" of snow; Tucson is acting like Spring.  Wildflowers are popping up and weeds are growing like crazy. Even the little desert ground squirrels are coming out of hibernation to play and scamper across our yard.

Thank you for viewing my paintings.

Fruit Phase

(oil on linen board, 6 x 6)

(Comment to me to purchase): $75

I'm on a fruit phase.  I liked the way the lights bounced off these cherries & grapes.
I often take pictures of my still life arrangements.  Sometimes the painting is a wipe off & I can revisit the arrangement later.  A little distance and time can inspire the right approach to a painting.

Thank you for viewing my paintings.

Plum Good (er)

(oil on gessoed board 10 x 12)
(Comment to me to purchase): $150

Remember the painting I did before this one with the orange and two plums called "Plum Good"?
If not, see below.  So, what do I call the same type of still life with more plums?
More Plum Good?
Plum Gooder?
Plum Better?
Tri-Plum Good?
What title would you use?

Impostor!

(oil on canvas, 8 x 10)

There is an imposter among the pears; trying very hard to blend in.
Okay, the pears are plastic, but the little vase is real.
Well, I'm confused...who's the impostor?

Thank you for viewing my paintings.
